FLEUR BAXTER

My names is Fleur Baxter, I’m a 20 year old, second year, Trans*, biotechnology student at Wolverhampton and I’m very interesting in running as chair of the LGBT*+ society. After last year’s society inactivity and overall lack of enthusiasm it was very hopeful and exciting to see Mark and Samm making the whole group far more active and involved in LGBT*+ issues and socials. I feel this is a good place to expand upon and make the society more welcoming and active for all of us.

I am the current chair of an already successful social society and I feel taking the methods I’ve learned from this and becoming the active chair of the LGBT*+ society (while resigning from my current society place) could prove very effective. I’m keen to organise events and campaigns which will meet the needs of all student groups within the society and liaise with the staff network and the student community.

I believe by forming closing links to the NUS campaign and the needs of the LGBT*+ community within the university to enable all students to feel able to join and participate within the society.
