School of Life Sciences

Currently studying:

Life Sciences

My name is Nerinea (Nickname Neri) I am an international level 5 student studying Animal Behaviour and Wildlife Conservation and this year’s School Representative for Life Sciences.

Being away from home and, or being in a new educational environment can be challenging. Personally, the opportunities provided by the Students’ Union and the University have played a big role in making me feel welcome. With my role, I want to make sure that everyone can benefit from those opportunities and have an even better time and experience at university.

Why I chose to become a School Rep:

To fulfil this, I want students to feel comfortable and confident enough to raise any issues you encounter, may it be academically or related to the wider student life. I believe the worst is that some students are not aware of the chances provided and feel like they are not given the support they need.

In becoming an approachable key point of contact, my role can basically be anything that you need it to be, whether you need a point of direction to receive academic advice, have any issues regarding your course, or need support creating a social event and even more.
Representing your student voice is my priority, ensuring that your concerns are taken seriously and are being addressed, providing information on the outcome, facilitating positive and visible change.
