The Wolves Law Society Please note the Student Law Society was previously the Bar and Mooting Society.

Welcome to the Wolves Law Society!

 

Overview

The Wolves Law Society represents an independent body within the Wolverhampton University that provides a voice and support for all members of the society. We aim for all our members to work together towards achieving excellence in preparation for legal professions, promoting safeguarding and reforming the rules of law.

 

Objectives & Aims

  • Provide opportunities for students to develop and strengthen their legal skills through a variety of activities such as: Individual support and mentoring, Mooting sessions held every Tuesday commencing 22/10/2019 from 13:00 until 15:00 in room MH017b and Debating sessions held every Friday commencing the 18/10/2019 from 16:00 until 18:00 in room MH017b
  • Participation in internal and external mooting competitions - https://www.thelawyerportal.com/blog/5-reasons-mooting-debating-uni/
  • Attend trips to the Houses of Parliament, Magistrate courts and Crown courts etc
  • Conduct legal discussions with students, internal staff and external legal professionals
  • Hold revision classes
  • Gain sponsorships
  • Promote the Law School and Society by building our members' reputation through presenting their results and achievements
  • Fundraising and charity work
  • Increase all members engagement within the Law school and society
  • Create an enjoyable, safe and friendly environment where students from all faculties and societies can interact together and exchange ideas!

 

Membership Benefits

  • All members may receive free academic guidance and support
  • Members will have the opportunity to mentor other members of the society
  • Members will have the opportunity to develop oratorical, leadership and other transferable skills
  • Members can attend trips – at lower prices than non – members
  • Members are enabled to meet other undergraduate students studying law who may come from different backgrounds, ethnicities and cultures
  • All members will obtain a certificate for becoming members of the law society.

 

Please note that there is a £5.00 membership fee.
