Weekly Update 13/04/2021

Hey Folks,

I hope you are all doing well and had a relaxing Easter break - I myself did and was very productive doing work in the garden. I have now built an archway, painted it, laid new turf, bought some plants and rented a skip to get rid of some of the junk. A long overdue job indeed! Whilst it certainly looks nice, I have unfortunately been having to enjoy the view from inside as the weather hasn't exactly been ideal lately especially with the snow! Fingers crossed that this improves as I am looking forward to the first barbecue of the year!

Today has been my first day back after Easter break and I wanted to provide you with a quick update on what I have been up to:

  • I have read through and checked my latest emails relating to student issues and I am now all caught up on these.

  • I have read through the latest Coronavirus updates from the University ready to pass this information onto students as and where necessary.

  • I have inputted my working hours from today and this week onto my timesheet.

  • I have checked through the Microsoft Teams chat channel for any messages relating to student issues.

  • I have posted a message onto the Microsoft Teams chat to make students aware that I am now back in the office and am ready to assist with any student issues.

  • I have contacted some of the various Student WhatsApp groups I am a member of to make students aware that I am working today and that I am now back in the office to assist with any enquiries.

  • I have contacted the Course Rep. WhatsApp group that I am in to check in with the Reps and see if there is anything I can help with. I have also made them aware I am now back in the office and am able to assist with any enquiries.

  • I have received an enquiry from a student regarding extensions and course re-starting. Identified as a priority and forwarded to student services who are now looking into actioning this.

  • I have replied to the APP survey which looks into student welfare during the Pandemic. This feedback will likely be taken forward to tailor future responses and support programmes for students.

  • I have accepted various meeting invitations.

  • I have contacted the head of SSHIPS to advise that I am now back in the office after Easter if there is anything that needs looking into.

And that's it for today's update folks!

Best of luck with your studies for this semester and if there is anything I can assist with, please let me know. My work contact e-mail is: Sydney.Cooper@wlv.ac.uk.

Kind Regards,

Syd
