The University of Wolverhampton Students' Union is excited to announce a fantastic new opportunity for a dedicated Marketing and Communications Manager to lead a small but dynamic marketing team that will positively promote the work of the Students' Union to the thousands of students we support and drive up interest and engagement in what we do.  


About the Role:  This role is all about delivering meaningful and relatable impact for our diverse membership which will enhance their student experience!  It’s about bringing our values to life, supporting the work of other teams across the organisation and using evidence to guide what we do, what we say and how we say it.  

This is a fast paced and on-site role where no two days are the same. It’s also a role that offers a unique opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of students. 


Responsibilities: As the professional lead, you will

  • Be instrumental in the development and implementation of the marketing and branding strategy, 
  • Co-ordinate and/or support our major events such as Freshers, Elections and our annual Staff Awards evening.
  • Drive activity to meet our ambitious income targets for our Bar and Deli services.
  • Manage social media channels 
  • Ensure our communications are authentic, consistent and student led


The Ideal Candidate will:

  • Be educated to degree level  and boast a proven track record in a generalist marketing role
  • Have a deep understanding of content marketing across digital and non digital channels
  • Be highly organised with experience of managing projects to deadlines, 
  • Be adaptable with a can-do, hands-on and positive attitude
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills and have some experience of preparing communications
  • Be able to work occasional evening and weekends
