Students are at the heart of everything we do in the Students’ Union, and as well as providing many volunteering opportunities, we also offer the chance for students to work for us and get paid! We have an amazing team of student staff who help us provide a vibrant and professional service and shape the SU’s on-going development.
Here at the SU we are going to be opening a bar, where we will be having regular events. A welcoming environment for all our students is key therefore, we need to ensure that our events are both enjoyable and safe for all participants. We are looking for individuals that are qualified in providing security and safety to all students during events.
We are looking for individuals that are qualified in providing security and safety to all students during events. You must have a SIA badge and experience in a similar role.
- To participate in the planning and delivery of key SU activities and events.
- To proactively patrol SU premises during key activities with the objective of providing safety of all users.
- To proactively engage with the University Security Team to ensure that all appropriate guidelines and protocols are followed.
- To assist on event nights during the academic year including live music and entertainment to ensure everything runs smoothly.
- To be responsible for own Health & Safety and that of your colleagues who may be affected by your acts or omissions in the workplace and adhere to the organisations Health & Safety policy and procedures.
- To liaise, as directed with appropriate stakeholders and members of the University.
- To suggest improvements to systems, processes used as well as the organisation of events based on experience and student feedback.
