Overview

There is an opportunity for a mooting team (2 students) to represent the University of Wolverhampton Law School at the prestigious external ESU Mooting competition in its 52nd year of running. It is a fantastic opportunity and ESU are generously offering the following prize incentives:

The winning finalists, as well as having their names engraved on the Silver Mace, will be awarded a prize of £1,000 each, whilst the educational establishment at which they study will also receive a donation of £1,000. The members of the running-up team will receive £750 each, and their institution will receive £500. Additionally the four semi-finalists will receive £250 each for reaching that stage of the competition. These prizes have been generously donated by Essex Court Chambers. All four finalists will be offered a mini-pupillage at Essex Court Chambers. The winners of the ESU-Essex Court Chambers Mooting Competition will represent the UK in the Commonwealth Mooting Competition during the years in which the Commonwealth Moot takes place.

The first round has to be completed by the 31st January and the University of Wolverhampton has been selected as the appellant host team therefore the moot will take place either on campus or online subject to the other teams agreement. If you would like to put yourself forward for selection, this will take place on Tuesday 16th January and you must prepare and present the first ground of the attached moot problem for the competition. The highest scoring will be selected to represent the University.
