Look After Your Mate is a 2-3 hour interactive workshop for students who may be supporting a friend experiencing mental health difficulties or would like to know more about mental health and wellbeing. The workshop covers:
Spotting the signs that your friend or peer may be struggling with their mental health
Starting a conversation with that individual about their wellbeing
Listening skills
Looking after your own wellbeing whilst supporting others
Signposting and information on what professional and further support is available
The workshop is delivered through trainer presentation, group discussion and individual and group activities. It is a confidential space and you will not be expected to share anything personal. The workshop is not a therapeutic space, however if during or after the workshop you feel the need for further or support or guidance, the trainers can signpost you to relevant sources of support. Drinks and biscuits will be available during the workshops.
