Introduction
My name is Osahenruwen Solomon Enabulele, you can call me Solomon for short, I am running for the position of VP Academics, because I have realised that there are lacking factors or skills in the academic sector “education wise”. Most students lack vital skills to enable them complete certain task or assignments needed for their course and how to use modern software. Also, with the situation on ground (pandemic) we have not been able to have any physical Extra-curricular activities , but due to the recent news , starting from April we should be able to put in place outdoors activities once again, where activities like , quiz and debates, gaming sections , dancing , etc.
My Experience and Skills
I am a new student, and in the short time I have been studying , I have realized some errors and problems a lot of student have been facing during these times and for the past years, when it comes to the accommodation sector, a large amount of student in accommodations , like myself are being tired down by contracts that are not flexible at all and keeps them locked in with no escape.
Most student do not have the voice to tell or take actions in certain situations, like , being referred to as prisoners in places they should feel at home, or being threatened of calling the cops on them, all because of mistakes that are not severe, that could either be pardoned or given a lenient punishment, and every other situations that might have taken place , that we don’t or never heard about, I want to be their voice and also create a solution for that. A lot of students a battling with funds in these difficult times, the university has provided hardship funds and travel funds which am sure would help students during these times.
What I plan to do if elected
If elected I would aim to:
- Create a platform, that will enable students to participate in outdoor weekly activities, every week is a new thing(to refresh the memory).
- Increase the chances of student to attain certain scholarship, that would help them during their students, therefore this can only be possible if the scholarship board work with me on it.
- Help student select the right accommodations, by creating a certain platform, which will contain vital information’s and a wide range of the best reviewed accommodation to choose from.
