MISS SARAH ISLAM

What experience do you have that will help you in this role?

Excellent communication skills (I sell cars so tend to work with a lot of customers therefore have good listening skills and talking skills). Good listener. Confident. Team player. Always on time. Reliable. Committed to tasks.

What made you want to nominate yourself for this position?

Want to nominate myself for this position as I want to come out my shell more and engage with different people at the university. I want to be able to make positive changes and be helpful towards others.

What do you think is the biggest issue students face in your faculty and how would you try to help resolve it?

Stress, knowing where to find help from. Scared to ask for help. So far our cohort we have decided to make a group chat where everyone can ask questions when they are unsure and so far it has worked.

Describe a time you created change or had a positive impact that benefited other people.

I am also a care assistant and have looked after some elderly individuals. When working with clients I was making positive changes to their lives every day. Assisting them getting out of bed to making them any meal of their choice. Empowering individuals was key.
