Olivia White

What experience do you have that will help you in this role?

I have previously been a course rep in my first year of university. I was inundated with issues from students concerning the way the course was ran, the support from lecturers and other services available to them.

What made you want to nominate yourself for this position?

I have a keen passion for helping others and for equality. I love to help rectify any issues for people who feel as though they don't know how to make the change or where to start.

What do you think is the biggest issue students face in your faculty and how would you try to help resolve it?

I feel as though the biggest issue students face in my faculty is to do with feedback on work. I would like to communicate with both students and lecturers to understand what exactly is causing the issues, and to collate possible solutions. Potentially trialling them, with permission.

Describe a time you created change or had a positive impact that benefited other people.

Last academic year I was a Peer Support Assistant. I feel as though I had a positive impact on other students as I was able to develop their knowledge in areas that they weren't too sure about, thus building confidence in the students future ability.
