MR OLIVER HICKMAN

What experience do you have that will help you in this role?

As a mature student, I have gained a large number of skills previous to my time here at university. I have worked in retail and hospitality, at management levels. This has given me the experience necessary to work with a lot of people, and lead them towards a common goal.

What made you want to nominate yourself for this position?

I believe that this role will help me immerse myself into Wolverhampton University. I am not shy or afraid to speak up where others may be. I believe that other members of the faculty can use me as their voice. I wish to help others, as well as the university get the best out of our time here.

What do you think is the biggest issue students face in your faculty and how would you try to help resolve it?

Initially there is a lack of communication between the students themselves, and this can mean that some may suffer in silence, rather than seek out those that may help. I hope to bring everyone, students and lecturers alike, together so that as a faculty we become much more efficient.

Describe a time you created change or had a positive impact that benefited other people.

I have worked in many management positions over the years that may be relevant here, however during 2012, I was a Games Maker for the London Olympics. I was made a team leader, and the team and I helped thousands of people each and every day.
