Candidate for the position of LGBT+ Rep

MR RYAN TALLON

What experience do you have that will help you in this role?

I have been Chair of the LGBT+ Society since the Academic year starting September 2016 and so I have good connections with the Universities LGBT+ Community. I have worked as a Senior Carer in which I have had to delegate to my staff.

What made you want to nominate yourself for this position?

As Chair of the LGBT+ Society I feel the LGBT+ Community at the University needs a bigger voice. I feel it important that the community is able to freely voice their concerns through me, whatever the issue may be.

What do you think is the biggest issue students face and how would you try to help resolve it?

There are numerous issues facing the LGBT+ Community at this University. There is no public information in regards to the usage of bathrooms for transgender peoples as far as I am aware. There is limited information in regards to sexual health.  Aswell the lack of input the community has at the Uni.

Describe a time you created change or had a positive impact that benefited other people.

I have worked in various care roles for 4 years, it was my job to have a positive impact on other peoples lives. I also, with help from others, essentially rebooted the LGBT+ Society and created a community for LGBT+ Students.
