School of Social, Historical and Political Studies Updates

Weekly Update 19/03/2021

Hey Folks!

I hope you are all doing well and are keeping safe! I myself have been very busy indeed working on my Dissertation - it's scary to think where the last 3 years have gone! I finish in just over 6 weeks which is a frightening thought indeed!

I hope all your studies are going well and I wish you all the best in your assessments!

I have been working today and wanted to provide you all with a quick update:

  • I have read through and checked my latest e-mails relating to student issues and I am now all caught up on these.

  • I have read through the latest Coronavirus updates from the University ready to pass this information onto students as and where necessary.

  • I have checked through the Microsoft Teams chat channel for any messages relating to student issues.

  • I have contacted some of the various Student WhatsApp groups I am a member of to make students aware that I am working today and available to assist if anyone has any issues or concerns. I have heard nothing as of yet and have not been made aware of any issues.

  • I have contacted the Course Rep. WhatsApp group that I am in to check in with the reps and see if there is anything I can help with. I am still currently awaiting replies from them.

  • I have accepted a catch up meeting with the University Vice-Chancellor where we shall discuss student feedback. I use this oppoeruntity to take forward the views of students and to ensure your voices are being heard.

  • I attended a Zoom Drop-In yesterday where I answered various queries from students and assisted with a few student issues.

  • I have answered a query from a Course Rep. regarding return to campus. I have informed him the University is currently awaiting Government advice and is carrying out an extensive dynamic risk assessment in order to keep students and staff safe when we do eventually return.

And that's it for today's update folks!

Look after yourselves and I shall hopefully see you all soon. If you do need for anything, my work contact e-mail is: Sydney.Cooper@wlv.ac.uk. Please feel free to reach out.

Kind Regards,

Syd
