School of Social, Historical and Political Studies Updates

Weekly Update 09/03/2021

Hey Folks!

I hope you are all doing well and are keeping safe! Things are moving along now as the country has started to gradually open back up again. Schools are now in the process of going back and the vaccinations are coming along fairly well according to the news. As I have said before, there is a light at the end of the tunnel!

I have been working again today and wanted to provide you all with an update:

  • I have read through and checked my latest e-mails relating to student issues and I am now all caught up on these.

  • I have read through the latest Coronavirus updates from the University ready to pass this information onto students as and where necessary.

  • I have checked through the Microsoft Teams chat channel for any messages relating to student issues. I am now all caught up on this.

  • I have contacted some of the various Student WhatsApp groups I am a member of to make students aware that I am working today and available to assist if anyone has any issues or concerns. I have heard nothing as of yet and have not been made aware of any issues.

  • I have contacted the Course Rep. WhatsApp group that I am in to check in with the reps and see if there is anything I can help with. No issues here.

  • I have replied to the message in Microsoft Teams regarding the key points for the FASEC Report. Key student issues will be raised at this meeting in order to improve the student experience for all students within SSHIPS.

  • I have checked in with a student today who I have spoken to previously regarding support. They are now doing okay and have resolved most of the issues they made me aware of. They have applied for a volunteer role  for which as their School Rep. I have given them a reference.

  • I have attended a Trailblazers meeting today in order to explore student volunteering opportunities - Watch this space!

And that's it for today's update!

If you would like to get in touch please feel free to do so. My work contact e-mail is: Sydney.Cooper@wlv.ac.uk.

Kind Regards,
