Collective Vision

Collective Vision is where students can see and vote on the live campaigns your Students’ Union is working on and suggest new campaign ideas that could improve student life in your course, campus, community, or student experience.
The Students' Union will review your idea and determine the best next step, which may include gathering feedback, supporting an existing campaign, raising it with the Officer team or University, or developing it into a new campaign.

Not every idea can be taken forward even if it gets a lot of votes, but we want to be clear about the outcome and reasoning. You can also raise issues through your Officer team, Course Reps, Community Organiser and Faculty reps.

If you see an idea you would like to know more about, click the title and you will be given more details on the idea.

Smart day lockers for commuter students

    Current
Commuter students carry everything they might need for the day on their backs. Unlinke local students they have nowhere to leave their belongings between lectures which is exhausting and forces students to head home straight from lectures rather than using the library, join societies or socialise with friends. Having lockers could boost student belonging by being more active socially and improve acedemic outcomes by encouraging the use of study spaces. It may also encourage public transport use and allow students to safely bring packed lunches from home, saving them money at campus outlets. The University should consider installing free to use day lockers (for up to 12 hours) accessible by scanning a student ID for commuter students in all campuses.

Not every idea can be progressed, but students deserve to know why.
This section includes ideas that did not meet the threshold, could not be achieved, or were not realistic at the time. Where possible, the Students’ Union will explain why, such as cost, practical barriers, limited demand, policy restrictions, or where the idea sits outside the Union’s influence.
