At the start of February, we kicked off Speak Week and heard from over 600 of you through our feedback form, thank you to everyone who shared their thoughts! Since then, your Faculty Reps have been busy turning that feedback into action. Whether it’s pointing you in the right direction, updating our website with clearer information, or meeting directly with university staff, we’ve been working together to make real improvements. Some of the feedback submitted is around catering options, accessibility of the gym and better timetables. So far, 69% of your feedback has been resolved, and we’re still going. Your voice genuinely shapes what we do, so if there’s anything on your mind, please keep sharing it with us through our feedback form.
This term has also been a big one for our democracy. In January, we hosted our AGM, with 116 students joining us across City and Walsall campuses to hear updates, vote on key changes, and approve important reports. And in February, our Elections brought our campuses to life, with 37 candidates putting themselves forward and 2,170 of you casting your votes to choose your student leaders for the year ahead.
Beyond feedback and democracy, we’ve also been building a strong sense of community together. Our Community Organisers have created spaces for you to connect, celebrate, and feel at home. From a walking tour around Wolverhampton to help you discover new favourite coffee spots, to taking time to recognise and appreciate the mothers and caregivers in our student community, these moments have been all about bringing people together. We also marked Trans Day of Visibility with a panel and Q&A, creating an open and supportive space to listen, learn, and celebrate.
