Get Protected Against MenB 💉
Starting university is exciting. You’ll be meeting new people, spending time in new places and, for many students, living away from home for the first time.
As you get ready for university, there’s one more important thing to add to your checklist: check whether you’re protected against MenB.
Meningococcal B (MenB) is a bacterial infection that can cause meningitis and sepsis and can become serious very quickly. Young people can be at increased risk when starting university or moving into student accommodation because they are living, studying and socialising closely with lots of new people.
💉 MenB vaccination clinics on campus
This Freshers’ Week, the University of Wolverhampton, working with NHS, public health and community pharmacy partners, is bringing MenB vaccination clinics directly onto campus.
📍 City Campus
Monday 14 to Friday 18 September
9am to 5pm
Head to the Health Hub, located on the Harrison Library corridor at the entrance to the MD Building.
📍 Walsall Campus
Wednesday 16 to Thursday 17 September
9am to 5pm
Head to the ASK Desk in the Performance Hub, where a member of the team will direct you to the clinic space.
Am I eligible?
The MenB vaccine is available as part of a time-limited NHS vaccination programme.
You may be eligible if you are:
• A young person born between 1 September 2007 and 31 August 2008, or
• Born on or after 21 July 2001, starting university or certain further education colleges for the first time in autumn 2026 and living in student accommodation.
If you’re eligible and haven’t yet had your MenB vaccination, take the opportunity to get protected while you’re on campus.
