25th February: Campaigning starts

11th March: Voting closes
11th March at 5pm: Complaints deadline
13th March: Results announced
Budget
Candidates will receive at least £30 towards their campaigning materials. Final budget will be confirmed during candidate training. Candidates cannot go over the agreed budget otherwise they will be in breach of the rules.
'Mates rates' are now permitted as per the election rules. For example, a friend cannot print your posters for you for free if they would usually charge for that service.
'Approval' of Candidates
You may see that your nomination is currently 'pending approval' on the website. Your nomination will be approved by the team after you have attended the candidate training and returned a signed copy of the election rules - this is included in the rule below.
You should continue to add to your nomination i.e. with a manifesto if you plan to run. If you do not submit a manifesto with your nomination by 11.59pm on Friday 13th February, you will not be able to add one afterwards.
Candidate Training
Use this form to book onto a candidate training session: Candidate Training
After you have attended training, you will receive a link to book your timeslot with our marketing team to have your photo taken. This will be used on any SU promotion of candidates, you are welcome to use the photos we take in your campaign or use other ones.
Campaign Teams
Use this form to register your campaign team, or declare that you will be campaiging alone: Campaign Team Registration
You have until Monday 23rd February to declare your campaign team.
Election Rules 2025-26
Below is are our rules for the 2025-26 Students' Union Elections.
There will be training provided on these rules to candidates closer to the time, but if you have any questions prior to that, please don't hesitate to email studentvoice.wolvesunion@wlv.ac.uk.
SU Election Events
The SU is currently running a number of events to help support students and candidates with different aspects of the elections. On our website, you will see a number of sessions, from Elections Q&A to campaign and manifesto workshops. Please note that these are optional and you are not expected to attend them if you don't feel you need to.
You will receive an email about candidate training seperately.
