We understand that the recent announcement regarding the closure of the City Campus sports facilities will have an impact on many of our students. As your Students’ Union, we recognise how important access to sports and wellbeing opportunities is for both your physical health and your student experience.

The University has shared that this decision has been made as part of wider plans to create new opportunities, including the development of the new Medical School. While change can be challenging, we are encouraged that the University has worked to secure cost-effective alternatives with local gym provider WV Active. This ensures that you will continue to have access to affordable and high-quality facilities, including a gym, swimming pool, and sports spaces, to support your active wellbeing.
