Date and time: Thursday 19 February 2026
Time: 12pm to 5pm
Location: Students’ Union, City Campus
We are inviting students and staff to come together for a simple but powerful act of kindness.
Amelia is a young girl from the Wolverhampton area who is turning 8 on 3 March 2026. After an incredibly brave journey with stage 4 neuroblastoma, she is now receiving palliative care. Amelia has one special birthday wish. She hopes to receive 8,000 birthday cards and break a UK record, surrounded by messages of love, hope and encouragement from people across the country.
This card making session gives you the chance to be part of that wish.
Join us at the Students’ Union on City Campus for a relaxed drop in card making session. No artistic skills are needed at all. Just bring yourself and a few kind words. All materials will be provided, and every single card made will make a difference.
Whether you stay for five minutes between lectures or spend longer crafting with us, your card will help show Amelia and her family just how much love surrounds them.
Why take part
Sometimes the smallest actions carry the greatest meaning.
A birthday card might seem simple, but for Amelia it represents joy, connection and knowing that people care. By taking part, you are helping turn a birthday wish into something truly unforgettable and showing the strength of our Wolverhampton community.
