Frequently asked questions

How do I find my Students’ Union?

Your Students’ Union has spaces across three campuses so you can access support wherever you study.

City Campus

Find us in the MD Building, right opposite the Library. This is also where the Welcome Desk is based.

Walsall Campus

The Students’ Union space is in the WS Building next to the accommodation buildings.

Telford Campus

Our Students’ Union space is on the top floor of the main reception building. If you are ever unsure where to go, ask a member of staff on campus or follow the signs.

Wolfie has checked every route many times and promises you will not get lost with his help.

How do I join a society?

Visit our Societies page, browse groups that interest you, and click join. Most societies have a small membership fee that helps them run activities, buy equipment, and offer events for members. You only pay once per academic year per society, and you can join as many as you like. Many groups welcome you to attend a session before joining so you can see if it is right for you. If you cannot find a society that fits, you can start your own. Wolfie always loves that kind of energy and teamwork.

How do I submit feedback about my student experience?

Feedback is your chance to share what student life is really like, whether that is something you would like to see improved or something that is already working well and should stay the same. It could be about your course, campus facilities, events, or any part of the student experience.

I need personal support, who can I talk to?

Our Advice Centre offers confidential support for students. Submit an enquiry here: Wolves SU Advice enquiry form. An advisor will get back to you as soon as possible.

Who can I talk to about my course?

A good place to start is your Faculty Rep. Find out who they are and how to contact them here: Student voice and representation.

What is the Wolves SU website?

You can find everything Wolves SU offers here: https://www.wolvesunion.org/

Who are the Officers?

I have a general enquiry about my Students’ Union

Email our team and we will point you in the right direction: info.wolvesunion@wlv.ac.uk

My student ID has not arrived yet, what should I do?

Your student ID is usually posted within five to seven working days after you complete enrolment. If it has not arrived after that, please visit ASK at WLV.

I have lost my ID card, how do I get a replacement?

Visit the Library to request a new ID card, or request one via eVision. There is usually a £10 charge for a replacement.

What can I use my ID card for?

Your ID card gives access to campus buildings, Library services, and printing and photocopying facilities.

How do I access eVision?

You can access eVision here: https://smsweb.wlv.ac.uk/urd/sits.urd/run/siw_lgn

What is Canvas?

Canvas is where you will find your teaching materials. Log in here: https://canvas.wlv.ac.uk/ You can also download the Canvas app to make access easier.

How do I access the WiFi on campus?

Connect to eduroam and sign in with your student email or student number and password. It is the same login you use for eVision.

Where can I find my timetable?

Your timetable is available in the MyWLV app. You can also use the online timetable page here: http://www3.wlv.ac.uk/timetable/

How do I find a room on campus?

Room codes work like this. The first letter indicates the campus. M is City, S is Telford, W is Walsall. The second letter indicates the building reference. The room numbers then show the floor level. For example 001 is ground floor, 101 is first floor.
