Student Support Fund

The Students’ Union (SU) is committed to the wellbeing of our students and the COVID-19 fund is one aspect of a holistic support package that the SU provides to students in challenging circumstances.

 

  • You can apply for the COVID-19 fund if you are fully registered on a course at the University of Wolverhampton.
  • Priority is given to those unable to access welfare benefits or income from employment, due to COVID- 19.
  • Students are judged on a case by case basis.
  • You may be asked to make an appointment with an ARC Adviser for advice on budgeting and managing your income.
  • Only one food voucher to be allocated per student.
  • Food vouchers are allocated on a first-come first -serve basis.

Referral to the COVID-19 fund is via the Dennis Turner Opportunity Fund (DTOF), the hardship fund provided and administered by the University of Wolverhampton.

  • All students referred by the DTOF will have provided evidence of genuine financial hardship including bank statements and evidence of funding. As part of this process, students entitled to benefits may be asked for evidence of expected benefit payments.

What happens next...

  • ARC will contact all students who are referred directly from the DTOF and request that they fill out an enquiry form
  • ARC will provide eligible students with a £50 Asda Food Voucher via email.

i) To fulfil the service you have requested from us, i.e. the processing of your application and the payment of funds to you if your application is approved
ii) To gather statistical information which will be used in anonymised format to measure the distribution of the Fund
iii) To provide Santander with anonymised impact information upon request
If your application is successful your information will be kept for six years in line with our legal obligations for retention of financial records. If not, it will immediately be disposed of.
