Hello my name is Tanya I am a 2nd year student studying BA Hons in special needs and inclusion studies. I am a friendly person and would like to work with the LGBT community within the University and the student union.
If elected I would like to work with the LGBT *+ society to work on equality and diversity issues and campaigns.
I would like to raise awareness and support those who are struggling to come out and accept themselves for who they are.
I would also like to ensure that these issues are represented on the student union council
Although we live in a society where being part of the LGBT community is no longer a taboo, we are still met with prejudice. If selected I would aim to break down the Barriers that the LGBT community still faces whether being because of religion, culture, ethnicity or family beliefs and values.
I promise to make your voices heard.
In the past gay meant happy and we as a LGBT community deserve to be happy and free from discrimination.
