Having recently begun attending Shadow Council meetings and seeing the significance of such meetings and the items discussed in them, I feel it appropriate that this information should be shared directly with all students through their student email address. Many are unaware that these meetings take place, even fewer see the importance of attending these meetings or viewing the Twitter feed.

As members of the Students' Union, it makes sense that everyone is aware of what happens within it and such an action would not only encourage more participation with the Shadow Council and the Students' Union in general but would also provide all students with a more active role to create a more student-led union.

Share minutes or a fair summary of Shadow Council meetings to all students

  • 26 Feb 2019: The Create Change team are planning to develop their section of the website and this will include uploading the Twitter feed from Shadow Council meetings. We hope to update you by 30 April 2019.
  • 14 May 2019: The Student Change team are still in the process of developing this area of the website. We hope to update you by 11 June 2019.
  • 11 Aug 2019: All Shadow Council meetings were live-tweeted in 2018/19. These can be found on Twitter under the hashtag #wolvesshadow. Council is being restructured before September, after which all previous minutes (not just from last year) that are available to us will go online. Idea is complete.

12:50pm on 3 Feb 19 That's the idea though as most students haven't even heard of the Shadow Council, never mind knowing that they can attend the meetings. The email should be sent to everyone given that all students are members of the Students' Union and they need to know what goes on and to realise that they should be a part of the process. I'm sure there would be an opt out button for anyone who didn't want to follow it, plus it only happens every two weeks so wouldn't cause many issues

4:05pm on 30 Jan 19 Sounds like a great idea! However maybe rather than sending out an email containing the minutes to EVERY student, the minutes could be uploaded onto the SU website. That way those who have no interest aren't having their inboxes filled up.
