Student societies often struggle to promote their events to students, partly due to restrictions at the university. Societies should be allowed to poster on all ground floor spaces in the university without the posters being removed. As well as this society events on Facebook should be co-hosted by the Students Union (where applicable) to allow students to find society events more easily.

  • 14 May 2019: The Student Groups Advisor is speaking with the Marketing Team this week, there is a process that is currently being discussed to allow societies to be promoted through our social media platforms. We expect to provide you with feedback by 17 May 2019.
  • 14 May 2019: The Student Groups Advisor has informed me that there will be a form available for societies to inform Marketing of functions they would like promoting on behalf of societies.

This Idea is a Win and is thus complete.

5:12pm on 23 Jan 19 The 'What's On' page needs a drastic revamp. Society's events can get pushed to the bottom of a mass of other events. It needs to be more user friendly.

5pm on 23 Jan 19 I completely agree but if you notify the society coordinator they can notify facilities and operations and they will stop taking the posters down then or contact them directly. However, it would be useful for the union to acknowledge events especially when they are located on campus.
