Explanation

The ML Building currently lacks an official name, unlike the majority of University of Wolverhampton buildings. As we approach the 25th anniversary of Bill Hicks' death on 26th February, it feels appropriate that this building should be renamed the William Melvin Hicks Building in his honour.

As someone who was not only an incredible comedian, philosopher, hugely influential and way ahead of his time, Bill Hicks encapsulated the values and ideas that any good academic institution should share: equality, justice, a desire for knowledge, critical thinking and the challenging of corruption and injustice. These are all values that I am sure the vast majority of students agree with, so a building in Bills honour would not only be a great tribute to him, but would also be reflective of our institution and the values of our institution.

8:43pm on 6 Feb 19 We should replace you with someone a little bit of common sense. Yeah let's name a building after a man who conducted extrajudicial killings - you need to seek help with these kind of views.
