Explanation

Currently the gender neutral toilets on campus are shared as disabled toilets. Not identifying with a gender is not a disability. LGBTQ+ rights need to be acknowledged to a higher standard. As a diverse university we must make aims to include everyone regardless of sexuality, gender, race, class, ability etc. This will promote inclusiveness and a more accepting community on campus where everyone feels welcome.

Status

  • 13 May 2019: There will be a gender neutral toilet provided in the SU; we are currently awaiting a locksmith but the toilet will be provided over the course of the summer. There are also gender neutral toilets provided in the Harrison Learning Centre.

This Idea is a Win and thus complete.
