Panopto is fitted across campus but rarely switched on. Lectures should be recorded on panopto with a lecturer opt-out system, rather than opt-in.

There is some suggestion that students will be less likely to attend lectures because of panopto however, these students are less likely to attend anyway and will, therefore, miss the lecture entirely rather than have the ability to catch up.

Sometimes missing a lecture is unavoidable and these students are therefore disadvantaged despite the technology being readily available.

It's also extremely useful to committed students who find it useful to watch the lecture over again- therefore improving their grade.
