Student Volunteer Project- Hospital Ward Support (Evenings)

This opportunity is ongoing, with no end date.

This volunteer role will support both our Dementia Strategy and Falls Prevention aims within our elderly care wards. Volunteers will provide a service to patients to address their emotional and activity needs. To talk to patients and provide company and a friendly face, and to alleviate their anxieties and provide distraction from distress by offering simple activities

Ability to talk to others and start up a conversation easily, including older adults with communication challenges To have availability to offer a 30 hour placements of 10 weeks at 3 hours per week (or less weeks in length if more shifts completed per week) Willing to volunteer in the evenings
