Volunteer Play Assistant

This opportunity is ongoing, with no end date.

The volunteer play assistant role involves helping out with and delivering play sessions and activities to young patients on the Children's ward and in the Children's Outpatient department. We are looking for volunteers who can offer plenty of time and evenings and school holidays would be appreciated. The age range of children on the wards is 0-18 and they attend hospital with a medical or surgical condition. Volunteers are required to support staff and play leaders on activities such as reading, art activities, film evenings and playing in the garden

Training information

Volunteers need to be a minimum of 18 years of age, and will need to be able to demonstrate that they have emotional maturity and confidence in this area Volunteers will need to obtain 2 references and pass an occupational health check/DBS clearance which will be obtained by the NHS trust
