About Us

This year at Sikh Society you will find us at City Fresher’s Fair. We will be having our Sikh Society stall present there, so come along and say Hi!

 

Our Aims:

At university it can be seen as an intimidating place, especially if you don’t know anyone when starting. Our aim is to bring the Sikhs together in a safe and social way. You will definitely make of friendships that will last a lifetime. We hope to see you soon!

  • Providing in house and external talks about Sikhi, both educational and inspirational
  • There will be food social events
  • Langar on Campus
  • Kirtan on Campus
  • Having joint events with societies at our university and other external universities
  • Having a place which you can speak to anyone without being judged
  • We aim to bring all together wherever you are on your spiritual journey

 

OUR BIGGEST EVENT

Holding Langar on Campus brings people from all over the University. This is an event which provides Langar (free food) to all which is both vegetarian and vegan meal. Langar creates equality eradicating worldly discrimination of gender, race, colour and creed. It is an act of selfless service which recognises the light of God in all - blessed to us by our first Guru Sahib, Dhan Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj. 

It is an amazing thing to be a part of, and we are incredibly thankful to those who made it happen!
