Welcome to the newly formed Civil Engineering Society:
The three core aims of the Society are:
1. To develop a professional network with local businesses and groups associated with the course to boost the profile of the university within the industry
2. To bring together students from all years and disciplines of Civil Engineering to allow them to share their experiences
3. To show how the theory taught in lectures is applied in real world situations
The Society aims to provide a variety of educational and social activities throughout the year:
Educational activities to include:
•Guest Lecturers / industry professionals to put on presentations •Site visits •Networking Events •Bi-monthly meetings to discuss issues and share ideas / experiences
Social activities to include:
•Curry or Chinese nights •Go karting •Nights at the dogs / Day out at the races •White t-shirt social

Members will also be entitled to discount tickets to the inaugural Civil Engineering dinner.
