The Trustee Board meets approximately four times per year (additional Board meetings may be scheduled at the discretion of the Chair with advance notice). The Trustee Board also has various Sub Committees (Appointments Committee)

What you'll be doing

The Student Trustee role is a voluntary one that is critical to our success. It lasts for a maximum two-year term. The Student Trustee has a particular responsibility to ensure that the UWSU is acting in its members’ interests, ensures the effective communication between the UWSU and its members and helps the UWSU to achieve its strategic aims and objectives.

The role will include:

  • Considering updates from staff and elected officers;

  • Reviewing management accounts and annual audited accounts;

  • Considering the organisational risk register; and

  •  Receiving performance reports and updates on the Strategic Plan.

About you

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be a current student at the University of Wolverhampton for the duration of the term of office

  • Be willing to learn, attend meetings, read committee papers and contribute to discussions

  • Have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with people at all levels and backgrounds

  • Be able to effectively balance their role as a Trustee with their studies and other responsibilities

  • Have a good understanding of the issues that affect all students
