We are looking for somebody who is credible with all our stakeholders, and demonstrates modern leadership characteristics including: empathy, high-levels of self and emotional awareness, the ability to develop relationships that are transparent and open and displays a calm and controlled demeanour, is direct when required, and leads with a clear vision and values. The sophistication to work in partnership with the university as a key funder and stakeholder, yet recognise the independence of the union to offer constructive insights and positive challenge from a position of partnership, will help you to succeed in this role.

You will need to understand governance, the role of the board and effectively utilise the resources available to you within the university and amongst your trustees.

Building trust, respect, partnership working, and developing more integration on strategic agendas with all stakeholders will be a key measure of your success.

You will be visible, approachable, passionate, enthusiastic and driven to help students achieve more.
