Budgeting and Finance

Ensuring you have your finances sorted before you start

Once you have applied to join a course and received an offer from the University of Wolverhampton you should receive an invitation by email to attend one of our pre-enrolment Budgeting and Finance sessions.

We want you to join us ready to learn, not having to worry about whether your student finance will be delayed or how you are going to live on your student income or make ends meet.

The Students' Union and the University Gateway therefore jointly run budgeting and finance sessions for new students, before they start at the University of Wolverhampton.

Each session will be held in the Students' Union on City Campus and will cover:

* Learning how to budget your money

* Student finance available to students

* Other financial support you can apply for

* One-to-one help and advice if you are having problems applying for funding

* Useful tips to help you when you are a student

The sessions currently available can be booked via www.wlv.ac.uk/budgeting

However, If you cannot make any of the specific sessions then you can book an appointment with an adviser in the SU or Gateway.

You can email gateway@wlv.ac.uk or advice.wolvesunion@wlv.ac.uk to arrange a more convenient time.

Each session will last approximately an hour but it will depend on how many questions you have. There will be an opportunity for a one-to-one chat about your specific circumstances at the end of each session.

Once booked in, you will be sent a reminder email a few days before the session telling you where to come to. If you have any question please contact either the Students' Union or the Gateway, as above.
