The Executive Committee

  • The Students’ Union Executive is the team of students that run the Students’ Union. The team is made up of four full-time positions and nine part-time positions. The students are elected by their peers annually and the full-time Officers can stand for a maximum of two years.

  • • Provides the main contact with the University.
    • Responsible for presenting the accounts and financial issues to the rest of Executive, Union Council and the University.
    • Ensures that the Vice Chancellor is aware of local issues affecting students.
    • Is the full time Officer with overall responsibility for communication, democracy, finance and governance.

  • Academic Vice-President - Ellen Marshall
  • • Raises issues that come up through the Student Voice Syste, from Course and School Reps.
    • Represents your academic (course) needs to the University.
    • Raises awareness of academic issues that may affect you.
    • Helps individual students liaise with the University if academic issues cannot be resolved.

    • Provides support to equal opportunity and liberation groups and reps.
    • Is the full time Officer with overall responsibility for the areas of Welfare, Community, Diversity, Environment & Ethics.
