The Madinah Society is a student-run society that aims to promote love for Allah (the Almighty) and his Holy Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him), his Blessed Household, his companions and all other pious people (May Allah be pleased with them all) and all things relating to him (peace be upon him).
The Madinah Society is so called after the city of the Prophet (Peace be upon Him) for two reasons:-
1) As a testament of our claim to love all things relating to him (Peace Be Upon Him).
2) We aim to represent peace, love and tolerance as the true values of Islam as were found in the Prophet's city under the 'Constitution of Madinah'.
Madinah Society is not just a religous society; our objectives and therefore our activities aspire to be varied in their nature to suit students of all shades of practice. We aim to represent the spiritual, inner dimension of Islamic worship. We do this for the purpose of promoting values of love, tolerance and peace embedded in traditional Islam, for the benefit and education of the wider community. Socially, this will serve to provide a platform for students to express their views and practice amongst people of like mind. Our group aims to welcome all interested, be they Muslim or non-Muslim in this rich tradition.
