I am writing to inform and encourage maximum attendance at this year’s Communist University. We have enclosed several copies of the CUB timetable for you to help publicise the university, as you can see we have ensured a superb line up and the subjects under discussion cover all aspects affecting our daily lives.

I’d like to take this opportunity to inform you of my recent appointment to the post of National Organiser and I am particularly proud to have been entrusted with this role. I am aware that I have big boots to fill and I will be calling on the significant expertise that rests in our membership.
I look forward to working with a range of party members and organisations at every level. One area I am particularly interested in supporting over the immediate period is assisting branches to undertake (and subsequently promote) party activity around a number of areas. One aspect of our work that has been particularly successful in a number of areas is the national campaign and petition against the great fuel robbery. There has been overwhelming support expressed by the public when party activists had promoted the petition and other materials. I would very much like to work with a number of branches up and down the country to ensure the maximum level of party activity around this vital issue.
You will appreciate that these and other activities cost money. We are undertaking our annual national appeal and I remind you to provide maximum support for this. If at all possible, commit a day’s wage – or whatever you can possibly afford. Of course, increasing financial hardship affects us all and even smaller amounts of money can be very useful indeed.
The party’s organising team has been focussing on developing a completely new, redesigned party website which has just been launched at www.communist-party.org.uk. The new website can now act as a substantial resource for building Communist activity around the country. It is being continually built and will serve as an important tool for party organisations and branch activists to use. It would be great to hear any comments and if you have any suggestions or spot any problems then do not hesitate to contact us.
