Fat Micks
Fat Mick's, the largest of all the Union's venues (and named after an ex-caretaker of the University), is situated on the ground floor of the Students' Union building on City Campus. The bar offers a wide & varied range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for the students based on and around campus, whilst playing host to our big regular events and providing an excellent social space for between lectures and afternoons off.

Useful Information Opening Hours Fat Mick's is open from 11.00am Monday - Friday, Wednesday, Friday & Saturday the Bar closes at 2:00am, On Saturdays we open at 8.00pm. Times may vary dependent upon events |
Poly Bar
The Poly Bar (named after the University when it was a Polytechnic, i.e. Wolly Poly) is situated on the ground floor of the Students' Union building on City Campus and offers a varied range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for the students based on and around campus.
The Poly Bar is home to the PolyCoffee experience, and is our venerable chillout area for both cosmopolitan slacking during the day and ambient chilling during club nights.
The Poly Bar is also home to the Milkshake Machine, and offers free access to the University's wireless network.

The Zone
The Zone is the Unions newest venue, which opened in September 2003 as replacement to the JL Club, which is now the Student Activities Hub, and is located on the ground floor of the Students' Union building on City Campus and offers a varied range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for the students based on and around campus.
The Zone is open for RnB club nights every Wednesday for 'Basssick' and Friday for 'Flirt!' and on Saturday it is the venue for our funky house night 'FHUK'.
During the daytime the club becomes our GameZone, with pool, table football, poker, and arcade machines (with more to come soon). It is also available for private hire for putting on your own events (subject to booking procedures).
