Many students find University life an exciting time, making new friends or strengthening relationships with old friends from school or college, a time to have fun in a sexually liberated environment.

It is important, however, not to feel pressurised into doing something you are not comfortable with. You have the right to say yes or no and your partner should respect that.

If you do decide to have sex, it's important to protect yourself adequately by using a condom, latex dam or a femidom or another form of contraception.

It's important to protect yourself from Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs) such as Cystitis, Chlamydia, Thrush, Hepatitis A/B/C and HIV/Aids. The effects of the STIs can range from mildly uncomfortable and irritating to severely life threatening.
