both give support and advice 24 hours a day.
They are willing to talk to anyone (male or female) who has been the victim of any type of sexual abuse. The service is free and confidential.
They will also explain Police, medical and Court procedures and advise about pregnancy prevention after rape (pregnancy tests, abortion, etc).
Someone from the Centre will go along with you should you decide to report the incident to the Police.
Obviously, it is often very difficult seeking help at such a time. For various reasons, many victims never report rape incidents but remember, help is always available from the Students' Union Advice & Support Centre.
Do not hesitate. Get in touch with someone as soon as possible. There will be no pressure on you to follow any course of action which is inappropriate for you.
Victims may also be eligible to receive compensation under the Union insurance scheme, or via the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority.
