Repairs

A landlord is responsible for repairs to the structure and exterior of the property and for maintenance of fittings and installations.

If repairs need attention, then inform the landlord in writing, giving him/her a reasonable time to rectify the matter (keeping a copy).

If the landlord does not respond to this, there are other avenues to go down, however, it is important you talk to the Students' Union Advice & Support Centre before you consider your alternatives.

WITHHOLDING RENT UNTIL REPAIRS ARE DONE IS NOT ADVISABLE! Speak to the ASC Housing Adviser before deciding on a course of action.
