Existing Students
The maximum contribution you will be asked to make towards
tuition fees in 2008/2009 is £1,255. The amount you are expected to contribute will depend upon income (your own, parents' or spouse's according to status).
Your Local Authority is responsible for making the tuition fees assessment.
There is a new non means-tested Tuition Fee Loan for all eilgible full-time students to cover their contribution.
You will need to check your eligibility for this loan with your Local Authority.
Students might be entitled to the Higher Education Grant. This is a non-repayable grant of up to £1,000 depending upon the income of your family. You will not be entitled to this if you have studied previously and received student support.
Existing Students on New funding system 2008/2009
From 2008 Universities and Colleges of Higher Education will be charging a new full-time undergraduate fee of up to £3,145 per year. A non means-tested Tuition Fee Loan will be available to all eligible, full-time students to cover their tuition fees.
You will need to check your eligibility for this loan with your Local Authority.
New Maintenance Grant (assessed by your LA)
Those from the lowest income families could be eligible for a non-repayable maintenance grant of up to £2,835 per year. Your Local Authority is responsible for making the maintenance grant assessment.
