Ever fancied becoming a trainer and gaining some invaluable experience that would look great to future employers? Well, here's your chance! We recruite for 2 posts (student staff opportunities - up to 30 positions available) within the Student Activities Department at the Students' Union.

E-LEARNING COACHES are initially, in the first four weeks of the new academic year, employed to deliver one-to-one training by assisting students who are experiencing technological difficulties with e-vision; IT Services registration; learning resources (OPAC); e-mail accounts; NUS registration; e-Portfolio; and any other computer/technology related queries. Subsequently, if taken on permanently, to deliver both drop-in sessions and one-to-one training on a regular basis.

SENIOR TRAINERS are employed to prepare and deliver training and support as part of the Sharpen Up Your Skills programme, as well as promoting sessions to the membership, across all campuses. Senior Trainers will also support the E-Learning Coaches in their role.

As part of the development of these roles, if not already participated in, all successful applicants could have the opportunity to take part in the National Student Learning Programme (or another 'training the trainer course').

This programme aims to disseminate key skills among students through peer-based training. Now into its ninth year, the NSLP network exceeds a total of 2000 student trainers who in turn have trained over 80,000 students in one or more key skills in their unions.
So how does it work?
NSLP organises Training the Trainer residentials, which are intensive 3-day events where students, recruited by the Union, will be equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to deliver basic training. Areas covered include:
