Candidate running for Sports Officer
PEDRO FREIRE DE ANDRADE
My name is Pedro Freire de Andrade and I am a second year B.A. (Hons) Sports Studies Student. I am a member of the Rugby Team, which I have represented since 2006. I have recently been elected vice-captain of this team. I am also a scholarship student.
Moreover, regarding sports activities, I also represented Portugal under 16, under 18, under 19 (Rugby World Cup), under 20 (European Cup) and presently I am part of the team that is playing the under 21 European qualifiers. Therefore I can say I am very keen sports person that would like to help to promote our University profile.
Furthermore, I work as a steward at the Student Union Walsall Campus.
From my point of view, the sports officer role is very important. I feel that I have the key attributes to be a successful officer. These attributes include dedication and commitment to any role, I am very organised and very much goal orientated. These are the skills that I think I can bring to the job, and I am sure the job will develop some new skills for my future.
My main aim is to help the sabbatical Sports and Societies Vice President doing his job the best he can, and also share my ideas with him, because as a student that participates in sport and that involved in the sports society of our University I know that are some things the we students would like to see changed. Therefore my main goal is to help on the improvements of certain issues that we student would like to see improved
