DEMOCRACY AND YOU!
A bit about us
The University of Wolverhampton Students' Union definition of democracy? YOU! Cheesy to say but oh so true, the heart of our Union is your involvement. The reason why students are elected as directors of UWSU is because who else knows better what students need than the students themselves? There are so many ways you can get involved, one of the most important being Union Council. Meetings are held twice a term and it’s you chance to change the Union! One passionate student managed to make one room at our City Campus venue non-smoking before the total ban was imposed – you could do the same whether its locally on your campus or the Union as a whole!
Voting for the right candidates during elections is the quickest and easiest way. We hold two sets of elections in the first and second terms of the year. There are a number of positions you can run for from full time paid Sabbatical Posts to the part time voluntary Union Officers and School Representatives. Each plays a vital part in our democratic structure and are key to the way we and our staff operate.
