It is really important to us that we respond to the feedback you give us about all sorts of issues related to your University life. From this information, we campaign on your behalf, liaise with the University, and, crucially, get RESULTS!! So, we want to let you know about some of the things we have done for you.
Did you know…..
• We successfully campaigned to get the Learning Centres open from 08.30am every day and from 10am - 7pm at the weekends after students told us they needed more access.
• After large-scale market research with students, we worked extensively with the University and have now opened a fantastic and much-needed new Students' Union space on Walsall Campus.
• We ensured the University changed e:Vision to make it work better for students, after feedback we received from our members.
• We helped our international students save on fees and visa charges totalling over £200,000.
• We made the University introduce a £2.50 'Meal Deal' in canteens and continue to speak to the University about the cost of catering on campus.
• We got the University to agree to give over £35,000 back into a student fund to help students find employment (as a consequence of lecturers striking).
• It was us who ensured that the 3rd floor of the Harrison Learning Centre became a Quiet Working Zone.
• We ensured the University upgraded all our student PCs to Windows 7 and Office 2010.
• We made representation on behalf of the students at Walsall Campus to remove the turnstile around the Student Village accomodation. Read more about this in the latest issue of Walsall Student Life Newsletter.
We are here for you as our members so please come and talk to us.
