Green Project (with various campaigns within)
The university recognises its responsibility towards protecting the environment and to minimizing the environmental impact of its activities. Two campaigns will support the university to reduce its consumption of raw materials
The ‘Switch It Off Campaign’ will encourage students to save energy in Halls of Residence. Students will learn easy ways of saving energy and the block which saves the most energy will be rewarded.
Furthermore a campaign will run to promote recycling in halls of residence and around the university, piloting a strategy for increased facilities where possible.
The impact of raw materials saved will be measured through energy bills from the halls of residence and also the amounts of recycling will be visually monitored before and after the campaign.
This campaigns is within our core aims as a Union that seeks to be Green & Environmentally friendly and Sustainable.
